Our beloved Prophet (ﷺ) said:
"Indeed, the best medicines you may treat yourselves with are hijama and sea incense." (Sahih Bukhari, 5696)
"Whoever sheds of this blood will not be harmed if he does not get treated with any [other treatment] for any [illness]." (Sahih Jami, 4926)
Edrees Elrachidi became one the first in the Western world to realize that hijama was being performed incorrectly by the majority of hijama practitioners. More specifically, hijama on the akhda'ain, which are two of the most important points in hijama, were often being neglected, and when they were not neglected were performed incorrectly. He checked the hadiths, hadith commentaries, and Arabic dictionaries and verified his research with over 20 scholars / practitioners trained in various Islamic traditions, including Deobandi ("muftis"), Sufis, Salafis, from various institutions and nationalities spanning Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Arabia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and the USA.
He completed his training with الحجامة هدي نبوي, an international board of trainers primarily based in Arabia and Jordan, and other parts of the Arab world. Edrees translated some hadiths for the organization and edited some of their course materials.
He underwent further training with Shaykh Naser, a world renown practitioner of hijama, and a student of (Rafeeq) Amjad Ahsan Ali (رحمة الله عليه), who was a cardiologist, renown reviver of hijama worldwide, and author of the world famous book, Al-Hijama, Healing the Sunnah Way, which Shaykh Naser co-edited and translated.
Edrees previously worked in the healthcare field in psychiatric, emergency, and pain management settings and continues further study of hijama under Shaykh Naser (Pakistan), Shaykh Adil Abu Suraqah (Bahrain), and Shaykh Waleed Jrad (Syria).

To keep with traditions, glass cups are used for the following reasons:
- Better adhesion (and by extension, suction) on the skin than plastic
- Lower environmental impact than plastic
- Safer than plastic due to non-toxic nature and lack of chemical leeching
Cups undergo hospital grade sterilization which is laborious and incurs additional costs, and is included in the total price.
